Art Studio
First and foremost, we want to support the artists who are homeless and at risk. This free and open art studio is for you — to come in and enjoy the space to create art and nurture the things that brings you joy.
These walls are full of the art you and others have created and the value you offer to the world. In this space you can do other things than just work …
The shower and laundry facilities are here for you. So, please feel free to use them.
Teach and learn here — because few things are as rewarding than sharing what you know and learning from others. What you know about acrylic painting or how to drop different colors in a background to quickly visualize color choices, for example — is helpful information that can be shared with others.
Your mentoring of a fellow artist who is struggling with their work might yield surprising results for both of you. Teaching improves your own learning.
Get something to eat or just rest in the company of friends here. A respite from the worries of the world soothes the soul. You are welcome to be here in this space.
If you’re a homeless or an at risk artist, schedule time to use the space to mix your work with taking care of yourself by contacting Rose at artonajourneygallery@gmail.com or 734.971.4245 for information on resources and services in the county that might be available for you.
